Esmee Denters Dropped By Interscope Records

The Dutch singer, who in 2008 attracted the attention of Dutch media scouts and American pop singer Justin Timberlake, has been dropped by Interscope Records. Denters who was signed to Timberlake’s Interscope imprint, Tennman Records, in 2008 revealed on her Facebook page that she is no longer with them;

Hey everyone
I told you all a while ago that I wanted to share more of my story with you. I have had a some really eye opening moments this week. And I feel so different from a few of months ago. I know it has been a long time that I have put out any new music. And watching your lovely Facebook/twitter/youtube messages comments every morning when I wake up has really helped me through some of the harder moments. So I really wanna thank you for that. Like Oprah Winfrey once said : Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down. Thank you all for riding the bus with me and sticking with me and encouraging me to keep going. After all life is a Journey not a destination.

I know you all have been waiting patiently for me to come out with new material. I have been going through a lot of big transitions in my life. I know you guys probably figured it out by now but it’s true I am not signed to Tennman records/ Interscope anymore and I haven’t been with them for over a year now. It has been a huge change and I am incredibly proud of all the work that I have done and the amazing people I have been able to work with while being on a major label. Sometimes things just don’t work out. In the beginning I found it really hard to accept but as I started to take a closer look at my situation and mostly at myself. I think it was time for me to grow not just as a singer and an artist but also as a business women. It was time to stand on my own to feet and it kind of made me realize. I started out with nothing but my talent and a dream and look where it got me. Do I really need this big machine behind me?

I was the first artist with a massive Youtube following to get singed to a Major label. One of the biggest reasons for an artist to sign with a label is to give the artist exposure they need. But in my case I already did. I even remember my manager and I thinking should we try and do this on our own? It’s funny cause one day we where having a meeting with the people from the label who where joking sarcasticly to each other saying you did really well kid! I guess all we can do is fuck it up now!

It’s so weird you can only connect the dots when you look back at everything that’s happened and suddenly it all seems so obvious. But I guess going through this whole experience has taught me a lot and it has given me so much knowledge. I feel like everything is slowly falling into place now. I have been writing and working on new material for the past few years. And I feel like I am ready. I know more then ever what it is that I want and I feel like things are really starting to click. The reason I have been so careful at putting out any new music is because I want to give you guys something that I can stand behind 100 %. Something that I know your gonna love. You can’t force creativity it comes in the moments you least expect it. I strongly believe this is only the beginning. I am very proud of the success I have had with my first album but there is so much more to come! This is definitely not the last you will hear of me! I am not a has been I am a Will be! It felt really good writing all of my feelings down and sharing them with you. I hope you all understand me a little bit better now. Thank you for supporting me I couldn’t wish for better fans
Love X
Esmee
